Quantum Detail Definition...

Within Quantum a Detail is the generic name of a Part, Component, Assembly, Raw Material, Operation, Estimate etc. Quantum allows you to store almost infinite amounts of associated information, data and values with each Detail.

There are numerous ways to create and manage Details within Quantum. The image shows the Detail Manager, that can be called from the Quantum Detail Browser.

A Detail has an ID, which is the key identifier value. It is used with the Revision to associate all other Detail information and values when associating Structures, Documents and Project references, throughout Quantum.

Quantum allows the user to assign differing Detail Class types, so that mixtures of Details can co-reside in the same database. Each Class can have its own configuration and definition in terms of database fields and screen display.

Status is used to control the workflow and life cycle of a Detail. Security measures can be used to determine Status Groups of users who have rights to set the value. Automation of the Status allows monitoring of Issuing, Modifications, Incrementing and Editing

Other data including Units of Measure, Suppliers, Source, Clients, free form Notes, History, Calculations and external Links can also be managed.

All Details can have Cost data, for both Buy and Sell set for Labour, Material and Overhead. This can extended to include Quantity break cost and discounting.

Associated Documents and Files can be assigned to each Detail.
